The voices of these verses convince us that age is no bar to expression. It is truly a work of art.
-Shri Amitabh Bachchan

With the Foreword written by Shri Amitabh Bachchan, well appreciated by Shri Ravish Kumar, Senior Executive Editor of NDTV, and many other eminent personalities; “Voice of the Verse” is a collection of well-crafted English and Hindi poems that revolve around social and emotional matters of our world. These allegorical verses have the underlying aim of making an impact on the readers’ minds.

The world is ablaze. There have been so many drastic changes that humanity seems to have lost its former charm. But even during this gloomy darkness, there are countless little rays of hope, which although are a bit hazy, yet are enough to illuminate our path. These poems emphasize on such issues of our world in a euphemistic and subtle manner. Some verses rhyme, some are just random collection of words, but each of these catapults the reader into a realm of thought and metaphor which they can relate to. This book is a platform for people to look inside and around and to give voice to their emotions buried deep inside.

About the Authors

Celinaa Srivastav is a precocious, empathetic being and a passionate writer who gets her inspiration from nature and the fascinating world around her. She loves to look at the manifestation of universal truths in the everyday lives of people. Her keen sense of observation and simple yet alluring use of language is what extends credibility to her writing. Gifted with the power of expression, she has bagged various awards for her writing skills including winner position at the Young Authors’ Award, 2017 at Ahmedabad, and an award for her story at the Bhopal Literature and Art Festival, 2020.

She has also had numerous short stories published. She is a student in the 11th grade at Delhi Public School, Bhopal, where she holds prestige both for her academic excellence and for active participation in extracurricular activities. Apart from writing, she loves music and dance. She lives by the motto that ‘Fate will always strike a balance’ and the dream closest to her heart is to make a change.

Kuhuo Bajaj is an eclectic budding writer. As a grade 10 student at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, New Delhi, she has participated in numerous debates, essay writing, and poetry competitions. Her works have been published in various national dailies and magazines. She is an avid reader and also enjoys painting and sketching. She has self-illustrated all her poems, expressing the thoughts not through mere words but also through art. Apart from this, travelling and the outdoors captivate her and provide new ideas for her poems. She sees the hidden fervour in simple everyday things. It feels like the inanimate objects, scenarios, and situations speak to her and she pens down their feelings with a touch of amiability and eloquence.

She has a firm grasp on both Hindi and English which escalate her writing skills further. Kuhuo and Celinaa met in the year 2011 and what started as a formal greeting, owing to their dads being in the same profession, grew into something more. Alike as two peas in a pod, they shared their interests and hobbies. Their friendship started over the love of books and then it
only strengthened over time. The magical five years spent in Ahmedabad were enough to forge an exceptionally strong bond between the two.

In each other, they found a writing companion who could appreciate and even critique their verses despite having discrete styles of writing and also distinct insights. From the nightly walks to the crazy pranks and building tents in the garden with coloured bed sheets, the memories that they made with each other were enough to keep them connected even when they had to shift from Ahmedabad to two different cities. This book is a testimony to their friendship, having been published collaboratively, enhancing the beauty of poetry and also their special bond.
